Dreams
These
are my current long-term goals.
1) What/who I'd like to be:
Good, perhaps even great, at everything that I currently know
how to do, while eventually learning and experiencing a little bit of everything
this earth has to offer. Yeah I know, why not be "the best" at everything,
or even anything? Quite simply stated, there are just too many things that
I'm interested in to focus enough on any one thing to be the best at it.
The things I'd like to be really good at, which are things
I currently know how to do to some degree, are:
- Engineering (specifically ASIC and FPGA design)
- Kickboxing (and perhaps some other forms of martial arts)
- Christianity (have a good sound understanding of deep Theology and be able
to back it up with Bible verses)
- Piano playing and music making (effectively reading and creating music,
and sending this music to my computer to make multi-track/instrumental songs)
- Bodybuilding (not Arnold type big, but big enough to fill in all of my shirts)
- A good husband, brother, son, friend, Bible study leader, co-worker, etc.
(successful at all of the relationships that God places in my life)
There are only so many hours in a day, not to mention that the
last bulleted goal directly contradicts the others, as it takes time to nurture
a relationship, which takes away from time I could be spending growing in
my knowledge and abilities of the other items in the list above it.
2) Things I'd like to do:
-
Go to Europe, especially Italy (I'm 100% Italian!).
- Speak Italian (see above).
- Skydive (I've already been Bungee Jumping).
- Cruise cross country in a convertible or a motorcycle with my wife and perhaps
some friends.
- SCUBA dive regularly.
- Snow ski in Colorado, Wyoming, and Lake Tahoe.
- Get my pilot's license.
- Pay off all of my debts (even if this excludes the home mortgage).
- Have (oh yeah, and raise them too) kids! I'd like to have 3.
3) Items I'd like to own:
-
A sporty project car, such as a Ford GT40, or a Cobra kit
car, but I would be satisfied with an Acura NSX or a Honda S2000.
-
I would like to eventually upgrade our residence to a
larger house. Ideally, I'd like to have:
-
4 bedrooms (1 for each child),
-
A great room for entertaining, with a pool table,
foosball, darts, air hockey, game console, etc
-
A slightly larger plot of land, perhaps with some
woods behind the house, with a trail leading to a lake
-
A screened in porch to occasionally just sit on and
stare into the backyard, lost in thought.
-
While I currently own a A 1989 Kawasaki 454 LTD sport/touring motorcycle,
I wouldn't mind upgrading it to a Harley, and maybe have a Ducati crotch
rocket as well.
