Before I continue, let me just say that there is nothing wrong with become a Christian in one of the previously mentioned methods. You don't have to be a theologian or an apologist in order to be a Christian. If you believe that you are imperfect (a sinner), believe that Christ came to offer himself as an atonement for those sins, and have thus decided to accept Him as your savior, then according to the Bible that is all that is required to get into heaven.
However, my nature has always been that of a skeptic. If possible, I must be proven, or at least completely convinced of something before I believe it. Often times, I have a very difficult time accepting what someone tells me without seeing, touching, or testing it for myself. So my journey to Christianity has been a slow process of gradual understanding. The more I thought, read, and talked about it, the more I became convinced that the Bible is true, that Jesus is who He says He was, and that what I believe is correct, because it makes the most sense. Then as I further implemented this belief I began to deepen my faith through my own action (prayer, reading the Bible, attending church, etc) and by what I am convinced is God's response and participation in my life. While it cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, the extent to which it can be proven leaves very little doubt in my mind, especially when compared against all of the alternatives.
So the web pages that follow regarding religion, and more specifically Christianity, are an attempt to convey what and why I believe in God, the human soul, Jesus, and the whole Christian experience. I cannot say that you, the reader, will completely agree with my statements and opinions, but it is only my hope that you will at least be convinced that believing in God and being a Christian makes some logical sense, maybe even a lot of sense. And if you do agree with some or all of my logic, then hopefully you'll choose to establish a relationship with God for yourself.Continue to "Evidence of the Soul"
